Uganda Wildlife and Primates

After breakfast, drive north to the renowned Murchison Falls National Park. Make a stop for lunch in Masindi, and another at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track the rare rhinos that are protected in this area. Later, you will arrive at Murchison Falls National Park, which is Uganda’s largest well-protected wildlife area, covering 3,840 square kilometers. Head to the top of the falls to enjoy the natural beauty of this spectacular site. Here, the river squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge, which was once over 1 kilometer wide, and plunges down with a thunderous roar, creating a water spray that often results in a stunning rainbow. Start your day with a delicious early breakfast before exploring the northern region, which is home to a wide variety of savannah wildlife. This game drive presents excellent opportunities for photography, allowing you to capture images of elephants, lions, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, and possibly even leopards if you're lucky. After lunch, enjoy a two-hour boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls. During the cruise, you'll have the chance to observe numerous water birds, as well as large populations of hippos and crocodiles. Have breakfast in the morning and depart for Kibale forest National Park. Have Lunch at Fort Portal and proceed in the view of the Rwenzori Mountains. A guided nature walk in the Bigodi wetland sanctuary to see various bird species, butterflies and primates. Today you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees. Besides our delightful cousins, you can find red colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, gray-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, and the black and white colobus monkey. After tracking, you have the opportunity for a guided walk through the swamps of Bigodi. Scenic Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in southwestern Uganda and is the second largest park in the country. On your first game drive, explore the park with 200 kilometers of well-maintained tracks. With an astonishing 5000 hippos, 2500 elephants, and over 10,000 buffalo, this park guarantees sightings of some of Africa’s most iconic species. After an early breakfast, you will go for a long morning game drive at 6.30 A.M. to catch up with the early risers. After lunch, you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel where you will see a lot of hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, and bathing elephants. Drive to Bwindi’s impenetrable Forest via the Ishasha region to see tree-climbing lions. Have a community walk (the Batwa-Pygmy cultural experience) in the evening. After breakfast proceed to the park headquarters to be briefed about gorilla tracking. The experience of coming face to face with these peaceful primates is very overwhelming.
